1/3 HP Ice Bath Chiller & 148 Gal Oval Cold Plunge Tub Kit | Cold Plunge Chiller with External Pump & Filter, XXL Upgraded Ice Pod, Cold Plunge Tub with Chiller for Cold Therapy Recovery
AS ColdPlunge Ice Pod Pro — 148-Gallon Oval Kit with Chiller Sale price$555.77
Overview

148-gallon oval tub with a 1/3 HP chiller, external pump and 20-micron filtration. Cools to 42°F.

A complete kit rather than a tub: the chiller, an external pump, a replaceable 20-micron filter and insulated hoses all ship together. The oval tub is reinforced PVC over Oxford fabric with 0.4" (10 mm) EPE insulation and a support frame.

A kit, not a tub

Chiller, external pump, filter and hoses in one purchase, which is the difference between plunging this week and assembling a system over a month. Set a temperature on the LED touchscreen and it holds it.

42°F, and what that means

This chiller reaches 42°F rather than the 33 to 37°F of the larger units here. For most people starting out that is the useful range anyway — and it is honest to say so rather than imply otherwise.

Everything needed, in one box

Chiller, external pump, filter and insulated hoses together. The alternative is assembling a system from four suppliers and discovering the fittings do not match.

HOW A SESSION RUNS

A session, start to finish.

Nothing to plumb, nothing to drain, nothing to schedule around.

  1. Set and hold

Set the temperature and let the chiller bring the water down. Set the target on the LED touchscreen and let it pull down. Once it is at temperature it stays there, which is the entire argument for a chiller over ice.

  2. Get in

Exhale on entry and keep breathing slowly — the gasp reflex is the part to manage. Two to three minutes is a normal working session; there is no prize for longer.

  3. Get out and rewarm

Dry off and let your body rewarm on its own rather than jumping straight into a hot shower. Shivering is expected and is part of the response.

Honest about 42°F

This reaches 42°F, not 34°F. For most people starting cold work that is the useful range — and it costs a fraction of what the sub-35°F units do.

FAQ

How cold does it get?

42°F. That is warmer than the sub-35°F units in this range, and for most people beginning cold work it is the useful band. It is worth being clear about rather than discovering after purchase.

What comes in the kit?

The 148-gallon oval tub with its support frame, the 1/3 HP chiller with LED touchscreen, an external circulation pump, a 5-inch 20-micron replaceable filter, insulated quick-connect hoses and an insulated lid.

How is the water filtered?

A dedicated external pump circulates through a 5-inch, 20-micron replaceable cartridge filter.

Is the tub insulated?

Yes — reinforced PVC over Oxford fabric with 0.4 inch (10 mm) EPE insulation and a support frame for stability when full. The lid is insulated too.

Can it live outside?

It is designed for indoor or outdoor use — home gyms, patios and backyards.

Who should not use a cold plunge?

Do not plunge alone, and never after alcohol. Cold immersion causes an immediate gasp reflex and a sharp rise in heart rate and blood pressure — anyone with a cardiovascular condition, arrhythmia, or uncontrolled blood pressure needs physician clearance first.

Raynaud's, cold urticaria, peripheral neuropathy and pregnancy are all reasons to speak to a doctor before starting. Build exposure gradually rather than starting at the coldest setting.
