4–6 Person Canadian Hemlock Indoor Traditional Sauna — Wet/Dry — 4.5kW Harvia KIP UL Certified Heater Sale price$7,179.00

Traditional wet/dry sauna. 4–6 person capacity. 4.5kW Harvia KIP UL Certified heater. Canadian hemlock construction.

This is a traditional electric sauna — not infrared. The 4.5kW Harvia KIP heater reaches temperatures up to 194°F and supports both dry and wet sessions. Pour water over the heated lava stones with the included bucket and scoop to increase humidity and atmospheric temperature. The Canadian hemlock construction, tempered glass door and panels, remote-controlled LED lighting, and partially pre-assembled design make this the most complete traditional sauna setup in our catalog.

Important: This sauna requires a dedicated 240V hardwired electrical connection. An electrician is required for installation. Plan your electrical setup before ordering.

Why Traditional Heat

Structured heat exposure has been studied for its effects on cardiovascular adaptation and biological maintenance. The research base for traditional sauna use is among the most extensive in the heat exposure literature. A 20-year Finnish cohort study published in JAMA Internal Medicine (Laukkanen et al., 2015) found that sauna use four to seven times per week was associated with significant cardiovascular adaptation outcomes. Heat shock protein activation through repeated heat exposure has been documented by Kregel KC (Journal of Applied Physiology, 2002).

The traditional sauna format — high ambient air temperature, optional steam, and bench positioning — is the environment used in the Finnish longitudinal research cited above. The recommended protocol range is 150–194°F for 15–20 minutes per session.

The Harvia KIP Heater

The Harvia KIP is a Finnish-engineered electric sauna heater — Harvia is one of the most established sauna heater manufacturers in Finland with decades of commercial and residential installations. The 4.5kW output is appropriate for the cabin size of this sauna. The corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction and protective stone guard are standard Harvia build specifications. UL Certified for electrical safety compliance in North America.

Wet and dry operation are both supported. The included lava stones, wooden bucket with plastic liner, and wooden scoop allow immediate wet session use from first setup.

Canadian Hemlock Wood

Canadian hemlock is selected for sauna construction for specific reasons — it is non-allergenic, non-toxic, and produces minimal wood aroma at high temperatures. It is more resistant to shrinkage, cracking, and splitting under repeated heat and humidity cycles than many other wood species used in sauna construction. The natural wood finish requires no sealant or treatment.

Front panel thickness is 2.2 inches. Back and side panels are 1.4 inches. The thicker front panel construction improves insulation at the door-facing wall where the most heat exchange occurs.
