HELP CENTER
Questions, answered plainly.
Straight answers on our saunas, cold plunges, and red light panels. No jargon, no pitch. For a starting point built around you, take Find My Protocol below.
Our Company
We choose equipment by what can be checked: dimensions, power requirements, temperature or light output, warranty terms, and how the manufacturer measured its numbers. When a figure is reported by the manufacturer and has not been independently tested, we say so. The research itself is covered separately in The Research Brief, including what each study does and does not show.
Two things. We publish the specifications you need to compare models across brands, and we say which ones are unverified. And Find My Protocol matches you to a starting point based on your own sleep, recovery, activity, and schedule, instead of pointing you at a generic bestseller list.
Getting Started
Start with the Find My Protocol questionnaire. It asks about five areas: sleep, recovery, activity level, schedule, and your experience with heat, cold, and light. Then points you to where to begin: which to use, in what order, and how much. Four minutes. No purchase required. Find My Protocol.
Three different recovery tools. Saunas use heat, cold plunges use cold water immersion, and red light panels use red and near-infrared light. Each fits a different goal and a different starting point. Find My Protocol matches your answers to which one (or combination) fits you, and the published research behind it comes with your results.
No. Most people start with one, usually a sauna or a cold plunge, and add from there once it's part of the routine. Take Find My Protocol and we'll tell you where to start.
Some can be. Certain products, such as red light panels, fall within an FDA device classification that is generally exempt from premarket clearance. We sell every product for general wellness use only: nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. If you have a cardiovascular condition, are pregnant, or take prescription medications, talk to your physician before starting a heat, cold, or light routine.
Infrared Saunas
Infrared saunas run cooler than traditional saunas. Heat comes from infrared panels warming your body directly, not from heating the air around you. A traditional sauna heats the room, usually with a stone-topped heater, and runs hotter. Exact temperature range is listed on each product page.
Same infrared heat, portable form. A blanket wraps around you on a mat or lounger instead of requiring a dedicated room, a lower-cost, smaller-footprint way to try infrared heat before committing to a cabin. Setup and cleaning steps are on each product's page.
Most residential sauna heaters need a dedicated circuit sized to the heater's power draw, installed by a licensed electrician. Exact voltage and amperage are listed in the spec panel on each product page, check it before you order if your space isn't already wired for it.
Wipe down the benches after each use and let the cabin air out between sessions. Infrared saunas don't use water or steam, so maintenance is mostly about keeping the wood dry and free of sweat residue. Model-specific care notes are on each product page.
Freight, on a pallet, typically to your curb or driveway, a signature is usually required. Exact lead time and delivery details are listed on each product page and can vary by model and current stock.
Traditional Saunas
A traditional sauna heats the room, usually with an electric heater topped with stones, and runs hot with the option to add steam by pouring water over the stones. It's the classic Finnish-style sauna. Infrared skips the room-heating step and warms you directly instead.
Most of our traditional and barrel cabins use cedar or hemlock, both naturally resistant to moisture and heat. Exact wood species and build details are listed on each product page.
Some of our heaters, including the HUUM Drop, are Wi-Fi enabled and controllable from an app, so you can start heating before you get there. Not every heater option has this. Check the product page for which controller ships with the model you're looking at.
Yes. Traditional sauna heaters draw significant power and need a dedicated circuit sized to the heater's kW rating, installed by a licensed electrician. Exact requirements are in the spec panel on each product page.
Yes, every sauna needs proper airflow, for comfort and for the wood's longevity. Ventilation and clearance requirements are listed on each product page. Check them before you finalize your install location.
Cold Plunges
No ice needed. Our plunge tubs use a built-in chiller, you set a target temperature and the unit holds it. Exact temperature range and chiller specs are listed on each product page.
It depends on your goals and how much cold exposure you're already used to, there isn't one right answer. Find My Protocol matches your answers to a suggested starting frequency and duration, and your results include the published research behind it.
Not for everyone. If you have a cardiovascular condition, are pregnant, or take prescription medications, talk to your physician before starting. Cold plunge tubs are sold for general wellness use only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Most plunge tubs just need a standard outlet for the chiller and a flat, level surface, no plumbing hookup required for filling or draining on most models. Exact setup steps are on each product page.
Red Light Therapy
Red and near-infrared panels don't use UV light, which is what causes most sun-related skin damage. As with any new addition to your routine, check with a physician first if you're pregnant, on a photosensitizing medication, or have a diagnosed skin condition.
Red and near-infrared wavelengths are absorbed by cells in the skin and the tissue underneath. That's the basic mechanism researchers are studying. The wavelengths tested, dose windows, and study citations live in the research brief you get with Find My Protocol, not the short version here.
Most published protocols run 8 to 12 weeks of consistent use before results are evaluated, this isn't a single-session effect. Find My Protocol can build a suggested schedule around how much time you have.
Yes, many people use them in the same session or on alternating days. Find My Protocol will suggest a sequence based on what you already have and what you're adding.
